A week after a man pleaded guilty to selling illegal sex drugs, the U. S. Food and Drug Administration has issued a public health warning, saying that the drug has been linked to the death of a teenager in his first weeks as a child.
Dr. Sidney Wolfe of Wolfe State Hospital, New York, said that it was a “very dangerous and deadly drug” that caused a deadly reaction in the teen’s life.
“We are taking every precaution to minimize the risk and to protect the health of the public and to minimize the risk of harm to children,” Dr. Wolfe told The Associated Press on Saturday.
“We are putting the safety of our patients first,” he said.
The case comes after an FDA advisory panel concluded that Viagra had the potential to be linked to death in children.
A week after Pfizer was fined $1 billion for selling unapproved anti-impotence drugs to the U. FDA, the drug maker pleaded guilty to federal child abuse charges and admitted to selling the medication in a manner that violated the federal law.
The FDA said in a statement: “Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of all the people who died while searching for answers to this serious health issue.”
The FDA said that while the drug had not been studied in humans, it was known to have adverse effects on humans.
The agency said that the product had been distributed by a pharmacy and was available only with prescription.
It also said that it had received approval from the FDA to sell Viagra, the popular drug sold under the brand name Cialis.
The drug is approved for use in pediatric patients. It is not approved for use in adults.
The drug has not been approved for use in children.
The FDA said that it has not given approval to sell a drug that contains the same active ingredients as a generic.

The drug may be sold by prescription only, but it is not required to be taken in conjunction with a doctor’s prescription.
